Featured profile
How Sifa picks one profile each weekday to show on the homepage and on the @sifa.id Bluesky account, and how to opt in or out.
Each weekday, Sifa ID shows one member profile in the featured slot on the sifa.id homepage. The @sifa.id Bluesky account also posts about that profile.
Featuring is opt-in. Sifa never features your profile without your permission. The setting is off when you create an account.
Turn featuring on or off
- Log in to Sifa.
- Go to Settings -> Privacy.
- Find the Featured profile section.
- Set the Feature my profile toggle to on or off.
The change is immediate. You can change the setting at any time.
When the toggle is on, the section also shows your status:
- Scheduled to be featured: Sifa picked your profile for a day in the next week.
- Not yet scheduled: Sifa did not pick your profile yet.
If your profile qualifies and featuring is off, Sifa can show a banner on your own profile page. Click Include me on the banner to turn featuring on. Click Not now to close the banner.
Who qualifies
Sifa selects only from profiles that meet all of these conditions:
- Featuring is on in your settings.
- Your account is active. Sifa never features a deactivated account.
- Your profile has a profile photo.
- Your profile has at least 7 of the 8 items in the list below.
The 8 items are:
- A profile photo
- A headline
- An about text
- A current position
- A past position
- Three or more skills
- An education entry
- An external account
If your profile does not qualify, Sifa does not select it, even when the toggle is on. Add the missing items. Sifa can then select your profile.
How Sifa selects a profile
Sifa selects profiles at random from all profiles that qualify. Sifa features profiles on weekdays only (Monday to Friday, UTC).
You can get featured more than one time. Between two features of the same profile, there are at least 6 months.
Notifications
Sifa sends two notifications in the app:
- Your profile qualifies to be featured: your profile meets the conditions for the first time.
- You are up next to be featured: Sifa scheduled your profile for a day. This notification comes about 7 days before that day.
You can change these notifications in Settings -> Notifications.
Stop a scheduled feature
Sifa scheduled your profile and you do not want the feature? Turn off the Feature my profile toggle. Sifa then removes your profile from the schedule.
A featured day starts at 00:00 UTC. At that time, the homepage shows the featured profile. At 12:00 UTC, the @sifa.id account posts about the profile on Bluesky.
- Turn off the toggle before 00:00 UTC on your day. Sifa does not feature your profile.
- Turn off the toggle on your day, before 12:00 UTC. Sifa does not post about your profile on Bluesky. The homepage shows your profile until the end of that day.
Turn on the toggle again when you want Sifa to select your profile again.
